1) Plotting photometric results - as a colour/colour diagram - from UKIDSS (J-Ks)v UKIDSS/SDSS (i-J) allows the various M-type dwarf stars to be distinguished. The (i-J)value is particularly sensitive in this context.
2) Searching for cool and ultra-cool stars should be possible by linking the SDSS/2MASS results using SQL
